What is Mold?

Mold is a fungus that grows with moisture that can be spread through the air. Health problems can occur when mold grows excessively, damaging the interior and furnishings of homes and businesses. Atlanta is ripe with conditions for mold growth, with rain and snow/sleet occurring throughout the seasons. There are a few indicators that suggest mold is present:

There will be a change of smell in the area, especially after wet conditions.

Visibility

You may be able to see mold growing in some areas. The walls may become discolored, stains on the carpet or a growth on materials and furnishings.
